Matthew Kent
After more than a decade planting trees throughout the forests of Canada, Matthew first stumbled into massage through an unexpected encounter with Ancient Lomi Lomi, a rare lineage of shamanic Hawaiian massage. After several years offering this sacred work, he decided to expand his understanding and practice by enrolling at Evolve College of Massage Therapy, where he graduated with awards for highest GPA and ‘Excellence in Massage Therapy.’ Rooted in a holistic perspective that values both modern knowledge and ancient wisdom, Matthew’s approach to massage integrates scientific understanding with somatic intuition, striving to offer his clients the best of both worlds. His overall treatment philosophy is that ‘less is more’ and that our bodies will often relax and reorganize in more healthy patterns when we offer them the space and safety they need. He’s found that, more often than not, our bodies are not asking to be fixed, they are asking to be heard. While trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities—from myofascial release to Craniosacral Therapy—Matthew’s greatest tools are his calm, grounded presence, attentive listening, and slow, intentional touch.
